INFO : Why do we need to eat breakfast?

In theory eating three meals a day rather than two should make you put on weight. But many studies have shown that this is not the case.
Breakfast eaters are nearly always slimmer than breakfast skippers, and making no other conscious changes to your diet except for adding a bowl of cereal in the morning can aid weight loss.

There's lots of theories as to why this may be - breakfast may help kick start your metabolism so it gets out of the overnight 'starvation' mode that makes you conserve fat.
Healthy breakfasts such as toast, fruit and yoghurt or fortified cereal with milk also provide nutrients like iodine and calcium which in themselves can help metabolism.
But the biggest effect is believed to be that you subconsciously select fewer high calorie foods later in the day if you eat breakfast.

This doesn't necessarily mean all breakfast-skippers fall into the stereotypical 'doughnut at eleven' mould (you obviously don't), but many researchers believe that having no breakfast will at some time cause you to seat more
later in the day.

Other benefits of eating breakfast appear to be better concentration, less depression and fatigue and fewer minor illness like colds.
